Walter Allard
Born in 1894 in Barton Turf to Richard and Martha (nee Scarland) Allard and had 14 siblings. He served with D Company 8th Norfolk Battalion who took three enemy trenches on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. He was killed in action on that day, 1st July 1916, aged 21.
