The Three Villages 1911 and 2011
Some research was carried out to determine how the villages’ demographics changed using the 1911 Census and information from the Office of National Statistics and the following conclusions reached:
Neatishead
Households in Neatishead have nearly doubled in the last 100 years but the population has only increased by 10%.
Barton Turf
Households in Barton Turf have more than doubled in the last 100 years but the population increased by only 25%.
Irstead
Households in Irstead have nearly doubled in the last 100 years, but the population has decreased by 33%. There has been a considerable decrease in the number of young people under 18 in the village.
